Introducing Madagascar Gold A Few days ago (March 8, 2019) I had the immense pleasure of distilling some Organic Ceylon Cinnamon sticks. Thanks to a great friend who loves to play and encourage new things! Not mentioning any names (ahem Michelle) 😜 Whenever I distill, the water in the pot of the Still (not the Hydrosol) is usually put into the compost pile, but I couldn’t do that to this oh so fragrant stash! So I strained & filtered the cinnamon sticks from the water and used the water to make soap! The color on the bottom of the soap is strictly due to the cinnamon sticks being boiled in the water. The top is mixed with some gorgeous golden Mica and scented with a combination of sweet orange essential oil from St Lucia and just a titch of Cinnamon bark essential oil from Madagascar. The grey-ish color was a cool surprise that faded out pretty quick to the same golden brown shown in the other soaps. I love getting to play with both crafts that I enjoy so much! This will be an April soap, date TBD. Olive oil, Coconut oil, Cinnamon water (from hydro distillation), Shea butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Orange Essential Oil, Cinnamon bark Essential oil, Mica, Titanium Dioxide & Iron Oxide.
